New Friends...

I first created this tiny dolls about a year ago, and those girls have been giving me so much joy and inspirations...

They are supposed to be the modern interpretation of Japanese traditional doll, Kokeshi, which shows reservedness and humbleness. They have been such wonderful messengers of mine :)

After the piece, "Wait for Me after" was happily adopted by a collector, I got pretty lonely without them, and I created new friends...

Changarrito! Maximo Gonzalez "Playful" Exhibition

I am a part of this exhibition, "playful" by Maximo Gonzalez at Craft Folk art Museum, Opening reception tomorrow, Jan 28th, Sat at 6 - 9pm. During the reception, me and two other artists will be showing and selling our work at a cart right outside of the museum.
and, I will be showing my work again at the same location between feb 7, Tue and 12, Sun, 12 - 3pm.

We just had a press lease preview yesterday with the cart outside, and it went great! Can't wait for Saturday's opening :)

FYI since there is no commission with the gallery for selling works, the price will be really good deal...

Art in the Parking Space by Pacific Standard TIme

This is such a last minute notice... but I will be performing in this event called, Art in the Parking Space by Pacific Standard Time, tonight (Jan 24th), 7-9pm at Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd!
There will be ten performing groups, and our group is one of them. We'll be performing with some Sculptural objects, created by the artist, Krysten Cunningham. That's all I can say for now :)

I think this is gonna be an experimental, unpredictable, and exciting event to watch...

The mercado also has incredible food! My favorites are Peruvian place, Mo-Chica, and Southern Mexican place, Chichen Itza!

Since the theme was the moon, I put star-shaped sprinkles on top.

White Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies! Those were mailed to my lovely family in Japan with holiday gift.

My signature Flan... I baked for a pot luck party for Weaving class that I've been taking :)
